Wells Fargo names community banking president

Wells Fargo announced that Oscar Mazariego has been named Community Banking president for the west central division of Greater Minnesota. In this newly created role, Mazariego leads retail banking for the central lakes, greater Mankato and south central districts. He is based in Owatonna.

“With his tremendous career at Wells Fargo and his ability to help strengthen our position as the premier financial services provider in the West Central division, Oscar is a wonderful addition to our team,” said Jim Hanson, Wells Fargo regional president for greater Minnesota. “I am confident that he will continue Wells Fargo’s 156-year-old tradition of satisfying all of our customers’ financial needs and helping them succeed financially.”

A 12-year veteran of Wells Fargo, Mazariego most recently served as district manager in Huntington Beach, Calif. Prior to this role, Mazariego held positions as store manager, assistant store manager, personal banker and teller with Wells Fargo. Mazariego earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California-Santa Barbara. He also studied business management at Cypress College in Cypress, Calif. Mazariego is president of Coastline Community College Foundation board of directors and chair elect of Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
