A field trip without leaving the classroom

At Albert Lea High School, Diane Heaney’s varsity choir and Gayle Brownlow’s Spanish 4 classes had the opportunity to work with a flamenco guitarist and dancer via interactive television. The artists taught about the culture and history of flamenco dance and music in Spain and demonstrated the art form. The students were able to talk to the artists from the Minnesota Shubert Center and even learned a dance! Through interactive television, students were able to gain an experience similar to a field trip without leaving the classroom.
