The grandstand challenge had a great turnout considering it had rained part of the day and the wind was at a nice gust.

For the 17 who participated in the event the wind became a welcome friend to keep them cooled as they went up and down the grandstand as many times as they could in a 30-minute period.

Every one of these contestants completed the 30-minute run/walk, whichever they chose to do. There was a lot of cheering between one another, a lot of high fives and dancing in the grandstands, and at one point one of the couples kissed as they passed one another on the grandstands.

The dancing in the grandstand was cause by Randy and the Mega Force Sound and Lighting Show.

He started the contestants off with the theme from “Rocky,” and it seemed to be quite fitting and set the pace for the rest of the contest.

First place at the grandstand challenge goes to Kathy Johnson, who has become a strong competitor in the challenges. Johnson went up and down (considered once) the steps for a total of 56 laps. She was down to a tank top and shorts while spectators were in heavy coats.

Second place was Nick Pederson with 49 laps, and Holli Waldemar had 40 laps for third place.

The city’s “Biggest Loser” contest is starting to wind down.

The final weigh-in is scheduled for Dec. 1. Contestants have from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day to weigh in to be counted for the competition.

On Dec. 4, contestants will celebrate their successes and learning who has earned the title of the city’s “Biggest Loser” with one team of “Biggest Losers.”

Domino’s Pizza will be sponsoring this event with subs, along with The Mega Force Sound and Lighting Show.
