The Albert Lea Chapter of FFA held a corn drive for Courage Camps on Nov. 1. Wayne Busch, Albert Lea’s FFA advisor, said FFA members were excited about participating in this project.
For over 50 years now, FFA fundraising activities have helped sponsor children and adults with physical disabilities that attend one of the two residential camps; Camp Courage near Maple Lake and Courage North near Lake George. Last year more that 1,200 attended one of our camping programs. All proceeds from the FFA drives are used to support Camp needs, including camper sponsorships, buildings and equipment.
Busch said at least 22 of his FFA chapter members assisted in the project. These members are: Ben Manigold, Laci Brune, Alissa Goette, Maddy Ruble, Joe Hubly, Brody Larson, Mic Skaar, Taylor Matz, Tyler Stadheim, Alex Colvin, Amy Lynse, Danny Lynse, Tami Srondal, Houston Sharp, Grady Ruble, Natalie Oakland, Halie Lau, Henry Manges, Lilia Walthers, Kayla Wurflien, and Jack Thompson.
Camping services are just some of the many programs and services offered by Courage Center, a non-profit rehabilitation center in the Twin Cities. Good luck to the FFA members and they “Live to Serve.”
