On Wednesday, the Hayward-Trondhjem Lutheran Parish will welcome Dr. Kristopher Hartwig, who serves on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in Tanzania.

Hartwig has been working for several years in a program to help several hospitals in Tanzania improve their hospice programs to more effectively care for people who are suffering from AIDS and other blood diseases. His wife, Rebecca, has developed a music teaching program for students where they live in Arusha.

The Hayward-Trondhjem Lutheran Parish helps to sponsor Hartwig and his work there.

The public is invited to join members of the parish for a potluck meal at the Hayward church at 6 p.m. After the meal, about 7 p.m., Hartwig will present a media presentation about his work in Tanzania. Donations will be accepted to help with Hartwig’s travel expenses.
