Albert Lea girls’ soccer player Sophie Miller was named to the State Soccer All-Tournament team Thursday at the Metrodome.

For Miller, a defender for the Tigers, it is the second straight year she has been named to the team.

Miller had 10 goals and eight assists for Albert Lea this season while providing stellar defending.

Her speed and tenacity on defense were a real asset for the Tigers this season and she often set up teammates with long balls off set pieces and clearances from the defensive end of the field.

Miller is a junior and served as a captain of the team this season.

Miller is part of a large junior class that will return next season with state tournament goals again. Seven juniors, including Miller return for the 2009 season.
