Hawthorne Elementary School in Albert Lea received a $419.96 donation from Target in the September Take Charge of Education payout. St. Theodore Catholic School received a donation of $177.58.
The payout is a direct result of the parents, teachers and school supporters who participate in the program.
Hawthorne has earned $5,157.67 since 1997, and St. Theodore has earned $3,009.08.
Through Take Charge of Education, families, teachers and members of the community can raise money for their schools by signing up and designating an eligible K-12 school. Target donates up to 1 percent of every purchase they make with their Target card to that school. Over the past 11 years, schools have used the funds for whatever they needed, whether it was books, field trips, new technology or supplies.
