Alden-Conger girls get past Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton

The Alden-Conger girls squad may have started out slow but on a frigid night against the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton team they did what they needed and brought home another win, this time a 51-37 thumping of the Bulldogs.
“We just didn’t have that bounce in our step,” head coach Gary Newman said. “We haven’t played or practiced since last Friday and it really showed in the early part of the game.”
With the weather bringing on cancellations, postponements and delays, it is making it hard to for teams to put their best play forward right now.
“The girls shot 43 percent from the field tonight,” Newman said. “I guess that is all right but I know they can do better. We have a different set of three girls step for each game and I really like that.”
The Knights will get back at it again after the break by traveling to Windom for a two-day tournament and then on to play Glenville-Emmons.
