Building reports show declines

Seasonal declines in building activity are reflected in the latest reports from the City of Albert Lea Inspection Department and the Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office.

The city’s report for November shows a total of 24 building permits with a valuation of $1,2120, 459 were issued. This increases the total valuation for the first 11 months of the year to $12,193,726.

At the end of November 2007, the city’s report showed a total valuation of $23,997,113 for building permits issued.

A November permit was issued for a single family dwelling on Meadow Lane.

Permits were also issued for two re-roofing projects. One, with a valuations of $96,000, is for Trailside Apartments on East Front Street. The second, with a valuation of $190,000, is for re-roofing at Gray Gables Apartments on North Bridge Avenue.

The Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office issued five building permits with a listed valuation of $66,221 during November. This increases the estimated valuation for county-issued permits for the first 11 months of the year to $9,659,730.
