Lowell Lawson

The funeral service for Lowell Lawson, formerly of Myrtle, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service.
Lowell died, Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center, Sleepy Eye. He was 80 years old.
Lowell was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Albert Lea, to Harold and Cleora (Rasmussen) Lawson. He grew up in the Clarks Grove and Geneva area. After his marriage to Ruth Weitzel on April 16, 1949, they lived in Albert Lea and then moved to the Glenville and Myrtle area. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Lowell worked for Wilson and Company for 31 years. After his retirement he worked for the Freeborn County Shopper. Lowell enjoyed fishing and camping.
Lowell is survived by five children: Kenny Lawson and his wife Diane of Myrtle, David Lawson and his wife Patricia of Myrtle, Neal Lawson and his wife Twila of Bailey, Colo., Camilla Kussatz and her husband Troy of Sleepy Eye and Thomas Lawson of Albert Lea; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Lowell is preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Cleora; wife, Ruth; and two sisters: Helen Hamor and Margaret Hamor.
