Thomas L. Martin, 58, Fergus Falls, was the driver of a 2007 Toyota Corolla and lost control of the vehicle while merging onto the freeway from the eastbound entrance ramp from Highway 29. Martin went into a ditch on I-94 about a half mile from the Alexandria exit at milemarker 103.

Darrell E. Albertson, 69, of Fergus Falls, was driving a 2006 Peterbilt semi tractor and pulled over on the eastbound shoulder to assist Martin.

The driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, 15-year-old Sauel Dunnuck, then lost control of the vehicle, slid sideways, and hit the rear of the semi. The impact with the semi caused the Trailblazer to cross a traffic lane and then collide with the Martin vehicle, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

All of those killed or injured were in the third vehicle.

Martin and Albertson did not sustain any injuries, according to the State Patrol. Neither did Anne Martin, 90, a passenger in Thomas Martin’s vehicle.
