On Saturday, five Albert Lea High School band members attended the ninth- and 10th- grade honor band sponsored by the Southeast Region of the Minnesota Band Directors Association.

The event, held this year at Rochester Century High School, allowed students from more than 30 high schools in southeast Minnesota and parts of the Twin Cities metro area to come together for a day of making music.

The day culminated with a final concert open to the public. The conductor was Janet Heukeshoven, director of bands at St. Mary’s University of Winona.
