Name: Jay Paul

Your role in the play: Barney Cashman

Describe your character: He’s a 47-year-old seafood restaurant owner who is having a midlife crisis and wants to know what it would be like to have an extra-marital affair. It’s the ‘60s and he’s missing the sexual revolution.

Why did you audition for this play? I think Neil Simon is a great playwright and I really like comedies the best.

What other plays have you been in? I was Burt Reynolds in “Stand By Your Man,” the father in “Father of the Bride,” and the lead in “Scotland Road.”

What do you do in real life: I’ve been the morning rock’n’roll DJ on Power 96 for the past 5 1/2 years.

Tell us about your family: I am engaged to Kristi Swalve and we just bought a ranch outside of Hayward where we live with her 10-year-old son, Ian, and my 18-year-old daughter, Kayli, plus three dogs, two cats, two bunnies, a talking bird and two turtles.

What else do you do enjoy doing in your free time: We are starting an alpaca ranch and I’m really looking forward to getting that going and making it successful. I also like fantasy sports.

Name: Carrie Boyer-Olvera

Your role in the play: Bobbi Michelle

Describe your character: A hippie. She wants to be an actress and a singer. She’s crazy!

Why did you audition for “The Last of the Red Hot Lovers”? I love working with Gordy (Handeland, the director) and the other actors. This time I got the funny part.

What other plays have you been in? “Annie” in 1989, “The Sound of Music” and this season’s “Stand By Your Man” and “Uh, Oh. Here Comes Christmas.”

What do you do in real life? I am writing both a music CD and a musical play. In May, I will be president of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Tell us about your family: I have a husband of 11 years and two boys in school, grades two and three. They are very supportive.

What else do you enjoy doing in your free time? Karaoke and spending time with family.

Name: Lisa Sturtz

Your role in the play: Elaine Navazio

Describe your character: She’s one of the three women invited up to Barney’s mother’s apartment for an affair. Elaine is very forward, confident, and sure of what she wants.

Why did you audition for this play: I auditioned primarily to work with Gordy (Handeland). I always enjoy the atmosphere he generates as a director.

What other plays have you been in? I have been in LOTS of other productions.

What do you do in real life: I am the office manager at Mattson’s Lawn & Garden Inc. in Twin Lakes.

Tell us about your family: I have one husband, four children (five if you count my son-in-law) and one very special and extraordinary grandson, Collin James, born on Nov. 21, 2008.

What else do you enjoy doing in your free time? Right now I am devoting as much of my free time as possible to being a grandma!

Name: Lori Larsen

Your role in the play: Jeannette Fisher

Describe your character: Jeannette is depressed, has a “hidden agenda:” and is over analytical and convinced that there are no “decent, loving and gentle human beings” left in the world.

Why did you audition for this play? I loved that three such different women could bring Barney through a great “life lesson.”

What other plays have you been in? “Over the River and Through the Woods” and “Father of the Bride.”

What do yo do real life? I work for an internet company, myShape.com (women’s clothing)

Tell us about your family: Husband, Erik; son Kyle, 16; daughter, Kristina, 14, and canine family members, Murry and Jewel.

What else do you enjoy doing in your free time? Traveling, watching movies, hiking the lake with friends and dogs, book clubs and church activities.
