Minnesota highway crews do good work

I want to take this opportunity to thank the people who work hard to keep the roads clear all winter long. I think this has been an especially hard job this winter.

My family and I traveled quite a bit over the holidays, to Wisconsin and Iowa both in November and December. We were able to do this thanks to the dedicated people out there clearing the snow and anticipating ice and storms. Compared to our neighboring states, Minnesota crews did a much better job of keeping the roads clear of ice. The weekends after Thanksgiving and New Year’s we were coming back from Des Moines, seeing multiple cars in the ditches all along Interstate 35. But as soon as we crossed the Minnesota border, the pavement was clear of ice and much easier to navigate. Thank you for the preparatory sprays or whatever the Minnesota workers use in advance of storms. I believe our state workers deserve many more accolades than they receive.
