We shop, eat out, keep medical appoints, pick up meds and have our car serviced in Albert Lea. Often we are approached by travelers who need directions to an address in Albert Lea.

We called Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce and the kind gentleman who answered said they have a large map of Albert Lea that could be framed and hung in the local business.

We are only one elderly couple, and we have had many people ask us for directions. A man saw Bill’s Yorktown CV10 cap and stopped to tell us he was from Charleston, S.C., so we know why he talked to us, but we wondered, why do they ask us? He said, because you probably look approachable.

Albert Lea is a beautiful city and a crossroads, so many people pass through going all four directions daily, and a map of Albert Lea would make it more customer friendly. Maybe a visitors’ center? However, in the meantime, we love telling people where to go!
