Zion quilters

Zion quilters meet almost every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Last year the quilters sent a total of 175 quilts to Lutheran World Relief. Ladies piece the quilt tops at home and on Wednesday mornings tie them and sew around the edge. They use recycled materials like used blankets, mattress pads and bath towels for the insides. Bed sheets make good backing material. Tops are made from new fabrics, used draperies, bedspreads, and other items in good condition. They have also given quilts to the American Red Cross for victims of the hurricanes and also victims of the southeast Minnesota floods. Special quilts have been made for fund raisers.
