The U.S. Census Bureau still is seeking applicants for jobs in Freeborn County. Many people told the Albert Lea Tribune they had trouble calling the St. Paul phone line to schedule their tests.
A census official will test applicants in Albert Lea on Thursday for positions needed in the 2010 census. This time, there is no need to call a number in St. Paul. The tester said he will test people first-come, first-served up to 25 for each time slot.
The test will be given at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in room 109 of Albert Lea City Hall. The Census Bureau pays prevailing wages and 55 cents a mile. The Web site for the census work is www.2010CensusJobs.gov .
