Don’t make the same mistake twice

Regarding the search for the new school superintendant: Remember several years ago the board hired a superintendant from a city to the north of us and it cost us about a million dollars to get rid of him?

If the board would have gone to the town where we found him and went to a few watering holes or coffee shops and talked to the people, we would never have hired him. The people of the district where he was from were so relieved to get rid of him that they thanked us dummies in Albert Lea for hiring him. Part of the selection process should be to visit the candidates districts and see what the locals have top say about the person so we don’t make the same mistake as we did before.
