Four cars derail, no spills

Four Union Pacific Railroad cars derailed Thursday near Freeborn County Road 24, west of Interstate 35 in Clarks Grove, according to a Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Operations Center report. The report indicated the rail cars were empty, and there were no spills. The cause of derailment is unknown. There were no injuries.
Restaurant broken into
The back door to the Powerhouse Bar & Grill at 408 Park St. in Freeborn was reported pried open sometime between 12:05 and 7:45 a.m. Thursday, according to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports. Reports indicated a projection television and about $450 in cash were taken. The case is under investigation.
Window broken out
The back window of a car parked at Wal-Mart was reported broken out at 2:03 p.m. Thursday, according to police reports.
Man arrested for DWI
Police arrested Francisco Burgos Rivera, 49, for third-degree DWI and open bottle charges on the 2300 block of Hendrickson Road after receiving a report of a drunken driver traveling westbound on Freeborn County Road 46 at 7:40 p.m. Thursday.
