Gelma Fossum, 104

Funeral services for Gelma E. Fossum of Albert Lea will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Hartland Cemetery.
Gelma died Thursday morning at St John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. She was 104 years of age.
Gelma was born Jan. 4, 1905, in Freeborn County, the daughter of Ole Jr. and Ingeborg (Myre) Tukua. She attended District 21 school near Manchester and graduated from Business College. She was united in marriage to Arnold Fossum on Oct. 12, 1939 at the Hartland Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jacob Wulfsburg.
Gelma was a member of the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church and was active in the church circle. She had been employed by the American Gas Co. as a bookkeeper for 18 years and part time as a bookkeeper for Standard Lumber Co. in Hartland, where her husband was the manager.
Gelma enjoyed knitting and making afghans, crossword puzzles and reading.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Keith and Mary Ingbritsen, Alice and Stanley Jensen, Ellwood and Janice Tukua, Raymond and Shirley Tukua. There are also many great nieces and nephews.
Gelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; sister, Otelia (Arnold) Ingbritsen; brother, Oscar (Norma) Tukua; and great niece, Carol Jensen.
