Care Providers of Minnesota, a long-term care trade association, awarded Lynda Everhard, quality coordinator at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea, with its Leadership Award. Long-term care providers from across the state nominate candidates for this honor, and with the presentation at Care Providers of Minnesota’s annual convention in Minneapolis in November, Everhard joined a select group of recipients recognized for their leadership skills and their positive impact on their organization and the long-term care profession.
Everhard has 28 years of health care experience, all at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea. The entire team depends on her expertise, creativity and support to provide quality care to residents.
Everhard is known for her calm approach to a challenge, as she approaches a difficult situation with an open ended statement such as with “Might we consider…” or, “Could we perhaps think about…” This courteous manner puts people at ease and gives the team confidence that his or her voice is heard. Her gentle guidance can also be seen when she mentors new employees, helping them to succeed at their jobs.
Everhard has been active in Care Providers of Minnesota, as well as in the community through her church, her kids’ schools, Boy Scouts and at community events. “There are no obstacles, just an opportunity to learn and improve,” is a favorite saying of Everhard’s, which also sums up her approach to work and life.
