Naeve Alumni and Nurses Club announces scholarship opportunities

The Naeve Alumni and Nurses’ club announces six scholarships available to area graduating seniors or people who have successfully completed one year of education in a registered nurse program. Scholarships to be awarded are: Sandy Jensen Memorial $1,000, Adeline Scherb Memorial $1,000, Tillie Richter Memorial $1,000, Naeve Alumni and Nurses Club Memorial $1,000, and two $1,000 scholarships form a caring nurse who wishes to promote nursing education.
Graduating seniors from Albert Lea, Alden-Conger, Glenville-Emmons, Lake Mills, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, United South Central, and Northwood-Kensett High Schools are eligible. Eligibility also includes those persons who have successfully completed one year of education in an RN program.
Children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Naeve Hospital School of Nursing Alumni will be given first consideration. All scholarship applications must be received by April 5.
Application forms can be obtained from high school counselors or from the principal’s office and must be returned to the club by April 5.

Factors to be considered by the scholarship committee are scholarship, service, community involvement and demonstrated leadership of the applicant.
The scholarships will be granted at the club’s annual luncheon on May 2. Recipient will be expected to attend this luncheon.
Every effort will be made to make the selection as bias-free (positively or negatively) as possible. All identifying information is blacked out before the forms go to the selection committee.
