The Green View custodian team at the Albert Lea Travel Information Center won two awards from Green View Inc. for the 2008 calendar year.

The first award is the “Top Travel Information Center Award.” This is the top award in the state that can be earned by a Travel Information Center Green View Team. The Albert Lea team tied for first place with the Moorhead team.

The second award is titled “Top Ten Award.” This award is given to the top 10 “Class I” rest areas from the entire state.

It is an impressive accomplishment for the Albert Lea Green View team to win this award when you consider the high level of traffic that flows through the Albert Lea TIC. Each year about 500,000 visitors utilize the TIC. This makes the Albert Lea site one of the busiest in the state.

On Jan. 21, executive director of Green View Inc., Don Knutson served the Albert Lea Green View team coffee and cake to celebrate the team’s achievement.
