Wolverine boys’ rally comes up short

It was a topsy-turvy game for the Glenville-Emmons boys’ basketball team Friday against Houston in Glenville.
The Wolverines (8-14, 3-11) were down as much as 15 in the first half but rallied in the second half to take a 10-point lead with two minutes remaining. That’s when everything went wrong.
Glenville-Emmons turned the ball over late and failed to hit free throws down the stretch and the Hurricanes (10-11, 10-5) were able to pull out a 65-62 win.
“It was one of those where everything went wrong and everything went right for them,” said Wolverines head coach Dan Fredrickson. “It’s frustrating.”
Michael Adams scored a game-high 19 points for Glenville-Emmons while Garret Schumaker and Michael Thofson each had 14 points.
Houston was led by Andy Sires, who scored 18 points. Tye Carrier added 16 and Nick Henderson had 15.
“Our effort was fantastic, we just need to handle the ball better,” Fredrickson said.
The Wolverines play Lyle-Pacelli Thursday in Austin.
