2 things to save money for the state

On Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, I read an article in the Tribune on Page 4, “Sessions won’t do much good.” This was about a meeting with state legislators to be held at the Albert Lea City Council Chambers on Friday, Feb. 20.
I called the State Capitol to get my name on the speaking list. The person I talked to said my name was on the list to speak. I gathered my information and prepared my speech. At the meeting everyone that had a chance to speak said “don’t cut out our money.” I didn’t get a chance to talk because they ran out of time. I wanted to speak about the following two things to save our state money:
If the state of Minnesota wants to save money, they should do what some other states have done:
No. 1: No government services if you can’t prove you are a legal citizen.
No. 2: Get Minnesota out of the refugee resettlement program.
Both of these are costing Minnesota taxpayers millions of dollars every year.
