Chris Throne, junior, Lake Mills

Averaged 16.7 points per game, shot 32 percent from 3-point range and 39 percent from the field. Was among the state leaders for 3-point field goals throughout the season and led the Bulldogs in an amazing turnaround from 1-6 to a 13-10 finish. Throne was the team’s second leading rebounder and one of the most versatile players in the area.

Colby Strilaeff, junior, Albert Lea

The Tigers’ leading scorer with an 11 point average. Given any space at all, Strilaeff has the ability to torch the net from 3-point range. Had games of 27, 20, and 23. Broke the school record for 3-point field goals he set the year before by making 73 3s, nine more than last season. Started to become more aggressive in attacking the basket this season, adding to his impressive shooting ability.

Jake Sonnek, USC, senior

Had a monster game to start the season with 26 points and 13 rebounds against Hayfield. Had four double-doubles for the Rebels. Pulled down 223 rebounds for an 8.6 average while scoring 10.7 points per game. Shot 47 percent from the field. Rebels head coach Rob Stevermer dubbed Sonnek, USC”s mini-KG. A two-time all-conference player.

Riley Swearingen, junior, USC

Averaged 13 points per game, shot 40 percent from the field and averaged 4.5 rebounds a game. Had five games where he scored 20 or more points. Had 70 steals on the season. An all-conference player as a junior and a versatile player with his rebounding ability. Rebels head coach Rob Stevermer said Swearingen was the team’s best perimeter shooter.

Trevor Davidson, senior, Northwood-Kensett

Averaged 12.6 points per game to lead the Vikings and shot nearly 60 percent from the field. Recorded 200 rebounds and 25 blocks to lead the team. Increased his scoring by three points per game this season as he became more of a focal point of the offense. Played in every game as Northwood-Kensett experienced an up-and-down season.
