City should plow the streets more often

I am writing about a heated issue in our community: roads in the winter. To me it really seems that the city doesn’t even care about our roads in the winter. When my brother and I go to school every day, the only roads I ever see plowed decent are Main Street and Bridge Avenue. Does the city just forget about all the residential and other side streets in town? Think of the teenage drivers who have little experience driving in snow and ice, and it would be nice if they could drive on safe roads.
When I go outside and our road is plowed, I’m shocked. When it is plowed in, it is so plowed so poorly that it is impossible to get out of our driveway. I live on an offset intersection and when the city comes to plow they are usually three to five feet away from the curb, I feel that is ridiculous. These unplowed roads and icy conditions will create many accidents and unsafe driving conditions. Some things I feel the city should do are A: plow more often. I think that the city needs to pay more attention to all roads, and they should start plowing earlier. B: enforce the parking policy on unplowed roads, to get all the vehicles off the road. Finally C: get closer to the curb, on many streets the city plows over a foot away from the curb, making it a nightmare to drive. I feel that the city needs to pay more attention to plowing our roads and preventing accidents.
