As of Thursday morning, the Albert Lea Salvation Army had raised about $2,000 to go toward receiving a match grant of $12,000 or $18,000. To receive grant dollars, the community has to raise $6,000 or $9,000 by the end of today. The grant would be used to provide direct services above the regular services provided by the Salvation Army. It would go toward newly unemployed community members struggling to make ends meet.
