Gabrielle H. Johnson, 32, of Commerce City, Colo., died on Feb. 25, 2009, in her home. She was born on May 1, 1976, in Albert Lea, to Craig R. and Debra R. (Hanson) Knudtson. She was a 1995 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She married Jamie D. Johnson on Nov. 10, 2001, in Albert Lea.
Gabrielle was an active member of The Orchard Church in Brighton, Colo. One of her life’s highlights was taking a short-term mission trip with her husband Jamie, to the Philippines where they shared the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Her greatest love was her personal relationship with Jesus Christ; her pride and joy were her husband and children. She was a true disciple of Christ by disciplining others, working with children, and women’s ministries.
Gabe enjoyed a very unique love with her husband Jamie that was fueled by her love for God. The two most important men in Gabe’s life were Jesus Christ and Jamie. Their relationship was nothing short of miraculous but a perfect testimony of a biblical portrait of marriage. As a mother of three, Gabe loved nothing more than to see the sparkle in her children’s eyes and rejoice in their accomplishments. Her children were the centerpiece to her daily life and the capstone to her motherhood. She loved to decorate, shop, and eat sweets. Gabrielle enjoyed an active lifestyle with her family. She ran a licensed day care in her home and was attending school to earn a real estate license.
Gabrielle is survived by her husband, Jamie of Commerce City, Colo.; children: Alax, Kali and Paige; father, Craig (Theresa) Knudtson and mother, Debra Nasby, both of Albert Lea; paternal grandparents, Max and Millie Knudtson of Glenville; maternal grandparents: Donald Hanson of Rochester and Donna Cochran of Albert Lea; sisters: Kristin Lee of Mason City, Iowa, and Ashlyn Nasby of Albert Lea; brother, Jeffrey Knudtson of Albert Lea; mother-in-law, Lois (Duane) Aitchison of Ellendale; sisters-in-law: Nancy Erickson of Blooming Prairie and Shari (Jay) Crabtree of Ellendale. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Duane Johnson.
A service to celebrate the life of Gabrielle was scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 2009, at 2 p.m. at The Orchard Church of Brighton, Prairie View High School Auditorium, 12909 E. 120th Ave., Henderson, Colo., 80640. A second service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale.
