New superintendent will benefit district

As a high school student I would like to welcome the new superintendent, Dr. Mike Funk. I would also like to say farewell to Dr. Dave Prescott and to let him know he will be missed.
Dr. Prescott did an excellent job while he was here, and I have a lot of confidence that Dr. Funk will be successful.
I hope that Dr. Prescott will have a great retirement and enjoys his life. He needs to know that our student body really appreciates his hard work and accomplishments to better our curriculum.
Dr. Funk has many obstacles to take into consideration as soon as he takes over. Some examples:
The statewide budget cuts.
Whether or not a four-day week will benefit us in our situation or not.
I don’t think a four-day week is necessary. There are too many factors involved including athletic practice and contest reasons. Also I feel that elementary students will not be able to handle being in school for so long.
However, I have confidence that Dr. Funk and the school bard will make the best decision benefiting our district.
