Tribune to air live broadcast over its Web site

Published 8:50 am Wednesday, March 18, 2009

You can attend the big announcement Thursday night, but if you can’t, you still can watch it live on the Tribune’s Web site.

Right on the home page, AlbertLeaTribune.com will show transportation expert Dan Burden’s report on walkability in Albert Lea. It is part of the City Health Makeover from AARP and Blue Zones.

The announcement takes place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Albert Lea Senior Center in Skyline Plaza. The live broadcast will be the first one in the 112-year history of the Albert Lea Tribune and marks a shift in how local media can operate.

The credit for implementing the live broadcast goes to Tribune photographer Brie Cohen.

People going to the Tribune’s Web site will notice a major change on the home page right before the start of the meeting. A place on the home page will show what is going on.

The meeting is slated to have recommendations and a discussion.
