Albert Lea city staff began rehabilitating downtown streets Monday.

Cracksealing began on Washington Avenue from Main Street to Clark Street on Monday and will continue through today. Work times will be from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. One block at a time will be barricaded as the work progresses.

The schedule is as follows (weather permitting):

Monday-Tuesday: Washington Avenue from Main Street to Clark Street.

Wednesday-Thursday: Newton Avenue from College Street to Clark Street.

Thursday-Friday: Broadway Avenue from Fountain Street to Main Street.

This work is being done to preserve and increase the life of the roadways.
