The Freeborn County Fit Forever Collaborative sponsored a “Fit Forever Fun Night” at Glenville-Emmons Elementary recently. The Fit Forever Collaborative wanted to introduce physical activity and healthy eating habits to the students and their families.
Becky Goodell, licensed and registered dietician at Albert Lea Medical Center, had a variety of healthy snacks for everyone to enjoy.
Families had the opportunity to have fun and burn calories playing Wii games. There were also games in the gym for families to play with their children and relive their childhood school day memories.
Families were also able to learn about the Fit Forever Program that will be running the next six months in schools throughout Freeborn County. There will be multiple fun fitness events planned now through June.
The Fit Forever Collaborative consists of Albert Lea Area Schools, Albert Lea Family “Y,” Albert Lea Medical Center and Freeborn County Public Health.
