Let’s take a day away from the hustle and bustle of politics and commentary to say a few words of congratulation to one of our own, Larry Zevenbergen.

It’s not that often the employees at our company get to enjoy a retirement party. People come and go in the publishing industry. That’s the nature of the field. However, Zevenbergen worked as a pressmen at the Austin Daily Herald and the Albert Lea Tribune for the past 37 years.

Wednesday was his final day. Many past employees of the two newspapers came to the Tribune to wish him well, enjoy a cookout and a potluck and catch up on the past. It was sort of like a chummy class reunion. Smiles were everywhere.

Happy retirement, Larry! Thanks for all the hard work.
