Isn’t there a better time to clean Main?

Considering that Main Street is probably the easiest and fastest way to get across Albert Lea, and considering that a lot of people take that option to get across town, would it not make more sense to clean that street (whether it is removing the snow or sweeping) some time other than during business hours? The street sweeper and the two gravel trucks guarding the sweeper create a huge distraction, and blocks the drivers’ abilities to see cross traffic, etc. Just this last week this scenario caused at least one accident; nobody was hurt, this time, but the totaling of one’s vehicle can sure disrupt one’s life. And, for what? So that Albert Lea can have clean streets?
Putting Albert Lea drivers’ lives in danger because the streets have to be cleaned does not seem a good, common-sense idea to me. I’m sure there are other times when the street is not so widely used that could be used to clean it, like between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. I know that there are at least two drivers who would have been very thankful if those hours had been used!
