Motorcyclist injured

NORTHWOOD, Iowa — Brian Hepperly, 40, of Northwood, Iowa, sustained a head injury when his motorcycle, being towed by another vehicle, lost control on Friday evening. He fell off the bike and reportedly struck the South Fourth Street bridge in Northwood. This accident is being investigated by the Northwood Police Department.
Pit bull put down
An Albert Lea police officer responded to a report about 6 p.m. Sunday that a loose white pit bull dog was lunging at pedestrians in the 900 block of West Front Street. When the officer arrived at the scene, the dog reportedly went at the officer.
The police report states the “dog was put down by the officer due to it being violent and safety issues.”
