New fish for Goose Lake

On Wednesfday the state’s DNR brought tiny northern pike fry from the Waterville hatchery to Albert Lea for planting in several area ponds and lakes. One place selected was Goose Lake. Access to this lake was made behind the Village Cooperative. However, the shoreline of this lake is very marshy. Thus, the fish in their jugs were taken by several men about 125 yards to the lake from the truck’s parking place. From left are Larry Anderson and Orien Lee of the Fountain Lake Sportsmen’s Club, Art Ludtke of the Shell Rock Watershed District Board, and Craig Berberich from rhe Waterville hatchery.
