Offense returns for Rebel softball team

The bats of the United South Central softball team returned loudly Monday in a 7-3 win against Faribault Academies in Faribault.
The Rebels (7-3, 5-1) saw their five game winning streak snapped Friday against Blue Earth in a 4-2 loss. USC had just three hits in the game, but the Rebels rebounded in a big way against the Cardinals.
USC cranked out 13 hits with sophomore Tayla Sunde leading the way.
Sunde went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, triple and three RBIs.
Kellie Robbins went 4-for-4 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored.
Kelsey Stevermer also had a two-hit night.
Sophomore Ali Ramsley allowed just one hit in a complete-game victory. She tallied three strikeouts and allowed just one earned run.
The win kept the Rebels tied atop the Gopher Conference with Mankato Loyola and Randolph, each of which have one loss.
USC travels to Medford Tuesday to face the Tigers.
