Worth Brewing Company will host its inaugural Spring Bockfest all day on Saturday, in what will be like an Oktoberfest to kick off the best season of the year, according to a news release.

People can buy a commemorative .5 liter glass and help finish off Peter’s Helles Bock and enjoy imported German beer and American craft bock beers. Look for homemade German red cabbage, sausage plates and Bavarian candied almonds. Soups Pizza in Northwood, Iowa, will also offer German Pizza in the evening.

The festivities culminate with the crowning of the Bock Fest king and queen. Everyone is eligible with customers picking the winners at 8 p.m. Candidates will be judged on costume, trivia knowledge and a short statement of how he or she will promote the Bock Spirit year-round. Winners receive a $50 gift certificate to Signatures Supper Club and a free growler full of Worth Brewing Co. beer.
