Trinity plans session regarding elder care
Published 8:44 am Friday, April 10, 2009
Life presents us with many challenges and decisions. As one ages there are certain concerns that should be addressed.
1. What happens when facing complex questions regarding long term care, short term care, or assisted living or home care?
2. Is there an educational program that can help one to find the answers and thus gain some peace of mind?
3. Are there benefits to having a family council or a resident council and is there power in a collective voice?
4. Is there such a thing as the Minnesota Home Care Bill of Rights — the Minnesota Nursing Home Resident’s Bill of Rights?
5. What happens if there is elder abuse?
For answers to the above along with your questions, the public is invited to attend the Trinity Lutheran Fellowship on Wednesday, April 22. Janine McQuillan from the Elder Care Rights Alliance will be our speaker. She will discuss the history of the Alliance, why it was formed, and answer your questions.
The event begin with a noon meal ($6). If you plan to attend during meal time, please contact the church at 373-2466 to register by April 20. If you are unable to eat with us but desire to attend an informative meeting, please join us in Trinity Hall between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. For questions regarding our program, contact the Rev. Marcia Hall at 373-6318.
