Albert Lea ‘C’ baseball team splits doubleheader with East

A week after getting dumped 17-7 at Hammer field the ninth grade Albert Lea baseball team bounced back and beat Mankato East 9-8 in a comeback win in the first game of a doubleheader in Mankato.
Trey Hable (2-2) pitched a complete game in his best performance of the year and the Tigers got the bats going when it counted.
Highlights from game one were Hable went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Griffin Wangen went 1-for-1 with two RBIs and scored three runs and had two stolen bases. Dylan Cottrell went 1-for-2 with a double, Jed Lokken also doubled and scored a run.
In the second game the Tigers lost a close game 3-2 as Dylan Cottrell (0-2) pitched a complete game.
The bats were not as strong for the Tigers in this game but it was a game the Tigers let slip away.
Highlights in the second game were: Travis Moffit went 2-for-2 with a double, Cody Riedlinger was 1-for-1, Jake Price was 1-for-2 with a triple, and Logan Enderson was 1-for-2 with a run scored.
Tigers “C” team much improved in loss to Winona
The Tiger “C” baseball team played in Winona and came up short 16-7 . After trailing 9-1 after two innings after several errors the Tigers managed to claw back to 9-7 after five innings.
Strong pitching by Wyeth Anderson (2-4) kept the Tigers in the game but strong hitting by the Winhawks kept the game just out of reach.
Griffin Wangen went 2-for-3 with two doubles, Trey Hable went 2-for-4, Dylan Cottrell was 2 for 4, Logan Enderson was 1-for-3 with two runs scored with a long double to left center, and Alex VanVooren and Jordan Johnson each had an RBI.
