Baby born in Alden home

ALDEN — A Freeborn County sheriff’s deputy was sent to an Alden home at 4:41 a.m. today in response to a 911 call that a woman was giving birth to a child. The Sheriff’s Office report stated the “baby (is) full-term, breathing, color good and crying.” Mother and child were transported to the Albert Lea Medical Center. No other details were available at press time.
Bridge closed
A report from the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office announces that the bridge near 200th Street and 800th Avenue will be closed for two to three months. This bridge is over Peter Lund Creek in Hayward Township and to the east of Albert Lea Lake.
