Civic Music announces its season for 2009-10

Albert Lea Civic Music announces the 2009-10 season.

The first concert will be Friday, Sept. 18, and will feature Cantus, a nine-member male vocal ensemble, originally from St. Olaf College in Northfield. This is an award-winning ensemble, singing great music.

The second concert is Thursday, Nov. 5. Robert Robinson, a spiritual and gospel singer, was named “Minnesota Master Male Vocalist.” He has appeared in numerous concerts with Minnesota pianist Lorrie Line.

On Thursday, Feb. 18, the stage will be graced with Ten O’Clock Classics. This ensemble of piano, cello, violin and voice was hailed by the New York Times as “The Hip of Classical Music.”

For those in the audience who enjoy fiddlers and step dancing, Everything Fitz arrives on Sunday, March 14. This family from Canada will dazzle and entertain families here.

From Canada to the old West, Thursday, April 22, brings America’s Favorite Cowboys, Riders in the Sky. This award-winning Western music and comedy show is guaranteed to enchant audiences of all ages.

The last concert of the 2008-09 season is the glorious Romanza, three tenors performing ballads from opera, Broadway and movies, Friday. Tickets for the 2009-10 season will be on sale at this concert.

The Civic Music Association Board is pleased to announce that there will be no increase in ticket prices. The cost will remain at this year’s rates: Adult $40, student $12 and family $85.
