Dogs impounded after attack

Police impounded three dogs at about 11:15 a.m. Monday, after receiving a call of a woman reportedly being attacked by dogs on the 900 block of Johnson Street, according to reports. Reports indicated the dogs “had her on the ground.” The victim refused transport.
Another dog bite that occurred Sunday was reported to law enforcement officials at 11:46 a.m. Monday, according to police reports.
As of press time no information about the bite, the victim or the location was available.
House broken into
A window was reportedly broken out of a house on the 2000 block of S.E. Marshall Street at 2:50 p.m. Monday, according to police reports. Reports indicated there was a $110 money order missing.
Update on Saturday dog attack
The Albert Lea Police Department has released more information regarding the attack by a dog which injured an 8-year-old boy on Saturday afternoon about 5 p.m.
According to the police report, the incident took place in the backyard of a home in the 900 block of James Avenue.
There are two versions of what actually happened.
One says several boys were playing in the yard when two dogs started fighting. The boys tried to separate the dogs and one, a pit bull, attacked one of the boys.
The other version listed says the boy tried to pet the dog when he was attacked.
The boy, who had facial injuries, was taken to the Albert Lea Medical Center, then transferred to a Rochester hospital by ambulance.
He reportedly received over 50 stitches on his face to close the wounds.
