Houston squeezes by Glenville-Emmons baseball team

It was about as evenly matched as a game can get Monday night when the Glenville-Emmons baseball team traveled to Houston to face the Hurricanes in a Southeast Conference matchup.
For every Wolverine step forward Houston seemed to take one more in a 4-3 win.
In the fifth inning Glenville-Emmons had just taken a 3-1 lead, but the Hurricanes came back for two runs of their own to take the lead 4-3.
“They just came back and scored right after us,” Wolverines head coach Louie Toulouse said. “It was one of those games that either team could have won.”
Houston’s Pete Kildahl and Wolverines’ starter Tyler Woodside were locked in a pitcher’s duel throughout. Both put together nearly identical lines. Kildahl threw seven innings, allowed eight hits, three runs, walked no one and stuck out six. None of the runs were earned that he allowed.
Woodside threw six innings, gave up four runs on seven hits, walked no one and struck out six. None of his four runs were earned.
“He’s pitching real well right now and he’s giving us a chance to win,” Toulouse said.
It was Woodside’s second game where he hasn’t allowed a walk.
Glenville-Emmons plays Truman Friday at Truman.
