Lorraine Eleanor Farnham was born to Marie and Lester Horning of Albert Lea on Oct. 23, 1924. The beloved wife of Dale E. A. Farnham, she passed away peacefully and with grace, May 18, 2009.
Lorraine lived life passionately and with spirit and she was loved for it in return. A wonderfully wicked bridge player, and fastest cribbage counter at the table; “Rainy” was the hippest computer grandma in all of Kossuth County and had a great love for music.
Always smiling and full of laughter, her keen sense of humor will be dearly missed.
She was a strong and supportive mother to her three sons: Bill, Bob and Brad. She was the proud Gold Star Mother of Bob, who bravely fought in Vietnam, 1970.
“Rainy,” a 20-year employee of Pioneer and hospital volunteer, was a beloved sister, auntie, and an especially cherished mother-in-law to Connie and Colleen. She was the grandmother of seven, great-grandmother of nine.
She was a caring friend to all — generous, gentle, witty and direct, an extraordinary woman of great faith.
“We love you to the Moon and back.”
Our lives have changed because you’ve touched us.
