The Alden-Conger baseball team suffered a season-ending loss Thursday to Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East in Northrop in its Section 2A playoff game.
The Knights managed just three hits and struck out 17 times against Mustangs starter Taylor Nawrocki in a 10-2 loss.
Alden-Conger (6-9) climbed to 3-2 after the top of the fifth behind a two-run double from Matt Jensen, but ML/GHEC came back for three runs in the bottom half and added four more in the sixth for the 10-2 final.
“It was fun coming back and working with them again,” said Knights head coach Faron Bremseth, who returned to the dugout this season after missing last season due to illness.
Alden-Conger losses three seniors from the squad and Bremseth said he looks forward to working with the group next season.
