Things continued to spiral for the United South Central baseball team Tuesday night against New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Genvea in Wells.
The Rebels (9-9, 7-4 Gopher) collected just two hits and committed five errors in a 10-0, five inning loss to the Panthers. It was USC’s fifth loss in six games.
“If we don’t start playing some better baseball it’s going to be a short playoff season,” Rebels head coach Pat Frank said.
Matt Tomsche went 3-for-3 with two doubles and No. 9 hitter Randy Raatz had two base hits for NRHEG (9-7, 5-5 Gopher) in the rout.
Brett Hagen pitched all five innings for the Panthers and allowed just two hits. He struck out three and walked just two.
