A 25-year-old Winona man faces multiple charges in a crash that killed four people and seriously injured two others in Olmsted County.
Authorities say Christopher Frisch told police he fell asleep and went through a stop sign on Highway 30, crashing into the side of a minivan traveling on Highway 63. Police say he also admitted he had been drinking beer at a Memorial Day weekend gathering.
Frisch faces 24 felony counts for Saturday’s crash, including multiple counts of criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation while under the influence of alcohol. He’s expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Olmsted County.
The crash killed Terry M. Milholland, 45, of Beecher, Ill.; his 5-week-old son, Raymond; Heidi J. Newell, 19, of Rochester; and Jarah M. Beers, 23, of Rochester.
Forty-three-year-old Rita M. Seha, Milholland’s fiancee and the mother of his son, was critically injured. Newell’s son, 2-year-old Carter, was also critically injured.
Frisch is in custody and unavailable for comment. He was unhurt in the crash.
