Visitation for Beverly “Bev” Elaine Anfinson will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will be officiating.
Bev died peacefully at St. John’s nursing home, Saturday, June 20, 2009, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. She was surrounded by many loving family members and friends.
Bev was born June 3, 1933, to Clarence and Judith (Hanson) Wick of Freeborn County.
She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1952.
On June 28, 1953, she united in marriage to Richard Earl Anfinson. The two made their home in Albert Lea, where Bev stayed at home to raise their two children, Julie and Gerald. In 1980 they relocated to Manchester, where she enjoyed the remainder of her life.
Bev was a member of First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. She loved life and lived it to the fullest! Weekends were always left for dancing at the Eagles or traveling with long time, special friend Don Jacobs. She loved being on the go and spending time with her family and the Jacobs family, all who were very important to her, and by who she will be sadly missed.
Memories of Bev will be lovingly carried on by her daughter Julie Diaz of Albert Lea; her daughter Kim (Brian) Herfindahl and their sons Trevor, Taylor and Grant of Glenville; daughter Jessie (Mark) Indrelie and their sons Spencer, Cole, and Kadin of Albert Lea; son Travis (Paula) Diaz of Wyoming; son Jeremy Diaz and girlfriend Samantha Stadheim of Albert Lea; Bev’s son Gerald (Connie) Anfinson of Grand Rapids and their son Jason (Laura) Anfinson of River Falls, Wis.; son Justin (Pam) Anfinson and their children Morgan and Evan of Albert Lea; daughter Jennifer Anfinson and fiancé Curt Reekers of Iowa City, Iowa.
Also surviving are very special friend Don Jacobs and his sons Dan (Patty) Jacobs, Don (Terry) Jacobs, Doug (Diane) Jacobs, and David Jacobs; daughters DeeAnn (Jerome) Goette, Donna (Jay) Ignaszewski, as well as their many family members.
Bev will be greeted in heaven by those who have gone before her: Grandpa and grandma Hanson, her mother Judith Wick, and husband Richard Anfinson.
